GIC Mexico was present at FAMEX 2023
FAMEX´s fifth edition took place in April 2023
The Mexico Aerospace Fair, FAMEX, is an event organized by the Secretariat of National Defence through the Mexican Air Force, whose objective is to bring together the leaders of civil, military, security and defence aeronautical fields to promote commercial exchange and boost the growth of the aerospace industry in Mexico. FAMEX is the right place to do business both with government defence agencies, but also with the private industry, as all key sector players were there.
FAMEX 2023 was held for four days (from 26 to 29 April, 2023) and had 635 exhibitors from companies, universities, aeronautical experts and the Armed Forces. More than 129.000 visitors attended the fair from 47 countries.
The Galileo Information Centre for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean was present at exhibition hall F in UNAM´s booth, carrying out activities to promote the EGNSS programmes, in particular Galileo, to the entire aeronautical industry present there. GIC representative Dr. José Alberto Ramírez, accompanied by other members of the UNAM, who are part of the Galileo Information Centre team, explained to FAMEX attendees at first hand the European satellite navigation systems, emphasising the differential characteristics of Galileo compared to other existing global systems. The interest shown by both students from the region and companies from the aeronautical and aerospace sector in learning about the benefits that these systems can provide in numerous market segments was remarkable.
The event has served to give enormous visibility to the European EGNSS programmes, having generated contacts with many companies and institutions on the American continent, which are already aware of what the Galileo constellation, for example, is capable of.
