The event was attended by ten expert speakers from different countries, Colombia, Mexico, France and Spain.
In the presentation of the GIC, our colleagues, María Mota and Alberto Ramírez, explained the European Satellite Navigation Systems, highlighting the differential characteristics of Galileo compared to other existing global systems and the importance of the use of GNSS in the development of current and future smart and self-sustaining cities. The occasion was also used to present the Galileo Information Center, its objectives and the activities that are being carried out.
This intervention of the GIC, joined the interesting presentations of other speakers who, through practical examples, explained the benefits of using new technologies in the design of cities. Without forgetting the interesting, and often forgotten, role that ethics and philosophy have in the technological progress that is being experienced.
Once again, the presentation of the European satellite navigation programs and the benefits they provide was received with great interest, highlighting these systems as technological solutions that help the development of cities and, in turn, achieve the objectives set by the UN. in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
One more event that has served to give visibility to European GNSS programs and the importance of their use in the transformation of cities towards the so-called smart cities.
This type of event organized by Smart Territories also seeks to find opportunity niches to establish national and international collaborations with companies, researchers and technologists to promote the use of new technologies in smart and self-sustaining cities in the very near future.
