The Galileo Information Centre ensures and improves the visibility of EGNSS programmes and activities in the region covered by the centre and promotes the cooperation of regional and European actors at different levels: academic, industrial and institutional, through the following services:

GNSS market and stakeholders analysis

Monitoring the GNSS market and local GNSS initiatives and key players and stakeholders in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

  • Preparation of market studies on key GNSS market segments – large and professional market.

  • Identification of key stakeholders.
  • Identification of Galileo added value for the GNSS market segments.

EGNSS promotion and communication activities

Promote and inform on the results and milestones of the EGNSS programmes and related applications (through documentation, informative sessions and a dedicated website), helping to increase the awareness among relevant actors in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

  • Elaboration and dissemination of communication material on European Union GNSS programmes.
  • Establishment and maintenance of the Centre’s website.
  • Organisation of information sessions on the European Union’s research and innovation programmes.
  • Participation in GNSS conferences and trade exhibitions.
  • Support to the integration of Galileo in the region’s plans for GNSS.

Facilitate the development of GNSS-related applications

Support industrial partners in the development of new GNSS applications and services.

  • Provision of ideas for new GNSS applications and services to industrial partner.
  • Support new EGNSS applications development.
  • Support deployment of new GNSS applications.

Education and training on GNSS-related issues

Support to the cooperation between European Universities and Universities from Mexico and the region covered by the centre for the organisation and delivery of high-level courses in GNSS (PhD level) and training seminars in the field of GNSS technology and applications.

  • Cooperation between Universities from Mexico to provide high-level education including PhD.
  • Provision of courses and organisation of training seminars in the field of GNSS technology and applications.
  • Promotion and demonstration activities related to training.

Industrial collaborations between regional and European partners & institutional cooperation

Foster contacts between entities involved in GNSS-related Research & Development (R&D) initiatives, through dedicated matchmaking events, high-level institutional meetings and interfacing with the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the chambers of commerce.

  • Organisation of matchmaking events and working sessions for industry representatives:
    • Foster closer contacts between entities involved in GNSS.
    • Provide a communication channel and a business environment that will boost interaction and new GNSS initiatives.
  • Facilitation of several high-level meetings and EC/GSA outreach:
    • Interface with local institutions.
    • Interface with the European External Action Service (EEAS).
    • Interface with the chambers of commerce.
  • Provision of general consulting on EGNSS.
  • Provision of business intelligence on markets and on relevant GNSS partners.
