GIC Advances EGNSS Development in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean with 6 Technical Notes
The GIC is making significant strides in promoting and facilitating the development and deployment of European Global Navigation Satellite System (EGNSS) applications in the Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. This initiative aims to strengthen cooperation between local and European industrial actors to support users in the region.
The project team at GIC, recognizing the potential for GNSS applications in various sectors, has embarked on an initiative to impart knowledge and technical expertise to regional stakeholders. The strategy involves transmitting existing EGNSS knowledge within the consortium to stakeholders through detailed technical notes. These notes serve as a comprehensive guide for the identification and development of GNSS applications and solutions, providing in-depth insights into potential applications.
The first phase of this effort saw the development and delivery of two technical notes on Drones and Agriculture applications. Building on this success, the GIC has expanded its focus to cover a broader spectrum of applications. Technical notes on Road, Geomatics, Aviation, and Emergencies have been meticulously crafted by the project team, signifying the consortium’s commitment to advancing EGNSS-related solutions in the region covered by the Centre.
By sharing expertise and knowledge through these technical notes, the GIC is paving the way for collaborative efforts between local and European entities. The ultimate goal is to foster innovation and address regional challenges through the development and deployment of cutting-edge EGNSS applications.
The technical notes compiled provide detailed insights into the possibilities of adopting and implementing Galileo in the region. They specifically address various market segments, shedding light on how Galileo can be leveraged in Drones, Agriculture, Road Infrastructure, Geomatics, Aviation, and Emergency response. This comprehensive approach aims to empower local stakeholders with the knowledge needed to embrace and integrate Galileo technology into their operations.
As the GIC continues to work towards its objective of enhancing collaboration and knowledge sharing between European and local actors, the technical notes represent a crucial step forward in realizing the potential of GNSS applications in the dynamic and evolving landscape of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. The GIC remains committed to supporting the region’s stakeholders on their journey towards adopting and benefiting from Galileo-based solutions.
The technical notes are now available on the GIC website: Galileo Information Centre – Technical Notes.
