The Galileo Information Center for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean is the information center for the technologies and programs of the European satellite navigation systems (EGNSS) and on this occasion it has organized an informative talk about Galileo and Copernicus for complement topic 2-6 of the third Search and Rescue Operations Management course organized by the Humboldt Rescue Organization, which will be held on the 7th of November, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. (Venezuela time).

The Galileo satellite global positioning system and the Copernicus Earth observation program are two of the flagship programs of the EU’s space policy. They allow for more precise navigation, positioning, and timing, and provide valuable data about the Earth.
Galileo is Europe’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), providing enhanced positioning and timing information with important positive implications for many services and users.
Copernicus is the European Earth observation program that observes our planet and its environment. The program consists of a complex set of systems that collect data from multiple sources: Earth observation satellites and in-situ sensors, such as ground stations, and airborne and maritime sensors. Users have full, free and open access to this data, which is also processed to provide a set of services based on reliable and near real-time information.
