Registration for the online GalileoGICkathon 2022 is now open
Do you have an idea for a solution that uses #Galileo, Europe’s Global Navigation Satellite System? If so, participate in the #GalileoGICkathon 2022 between #GalileoICMexico and #GalileoIC_Chile.
On September 9 and 10, 2022 (Friday and Saturday uninterruptedly for 27 hours) the GalileoGICkathon 2022 will be launched. This online event is jointly organized by the Galileo Information Center of Mexico and Chile. The objective of the competition is the design, development and/or commercial launch of an idea able to provide a position, navigation and/or time fix by using Galileo, the global navigation satellite system of the European Union.
The challenges
Each participating team shall propose a solution targeting one of the following development areas:
Emergencies and natural disasters
Galileo supports prevention, early detection, emergency management and humanitarian aid in the event of natural disasters.
Productivity and sustainability
Galileo in this area contributes to the efficient and sustainable management of agricultural resources, the promotion of precision agriculture, preservation of biodiversity while implementing faster, more ecological and efficient transport options
Mobility and Smart cities
Galileo supports safe implementation of automated mobility in cooperative/connected cars, short sea shipping and inland waterway vessels, freight transport, air taxis and light rail systems in urban public transport by providing real-time data on schedules, traffic conditions, optimized routes, social events and tourist data.
During the Hackathon, meetings will be held with technical and business mentors to help you develop your solutions.
